Supported Charities:

At the William Vastis Wealth Management Group, we believe that giving back to the community we live in is essential and necessary when-ever possible.  As a result, the group has joined up with some charities in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to assist them both financially and in promoting there causes.

We ask that you take the time to peruse their individual summaries provided below, and if possible, click on the logos of each and it will take to their to respective web sites.

Since 1875, The Hospital for Sick Children has contributed to countless advances in children's health and the lives of millions of children have been profoundly changed for the better as a result. Outstanding patient care, research and education have helped Sick Kids to emerge as one of the best centres for children's health care in the world.

Since the earliest days of The Hospital for Sick Children, people from all walks of life have contributed to making Sick Kids better. Through their generosity, these supporters have been our main source of funding for what government does not provide for research, new equipment, and renovations. These funds help ensure that the hospital continues to be one of the world's leading pediatric centres.

An endowment establishes a named fund to support a specific purpose, such as a scholarship, lecture series, educational equipment or library acquisitions. To establish an endowment, a gift of capital is entirely invested in the donor’s name within the University's endowment fund. The named endowment becomes a permanent memorial and each year a part of the accrued growth, after allowance for inflation protection, is awarded. The University of Guelph’s endowment policy ensures that the donor’s gift is secure and that the donor’s intentions and plans are maintained.

Creating an endowment fund allows your gift to become a permanent resource for the University. Thanks to you, your gift continues to benefit the University forever.

For decades, Big Brothers of Toronto and Big Sisters of Toronto have been well known and respected for the important service they have provided to children in our community. This time has developed an appreciation for the powerful role that mentors play in young people’s lives.

In 2001, a historic decision was made to amalgamate Big Brothers of Toronto and Big Sisters of Toronto to become one stronger organization serving the children in our community.

With the amalgamation, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto has the vision, leadership, organization, brand and governance structure to accelerate building a larger and stronger agency dedicated to reach and serve more children in our community.

Other benefits of the amalgamation include:

  1. Improved capacity to help substantially more children by leveraging one infrastructure
  2. Increased ability to develop innovative programs for both girls and boys
  3. The opportunity to play a leadership role in children’s services in Toronto

As we stand at the crossroads of what we all believe to be the great future of this organization, we are mindful that the support of the whole community is more important now than it has ever been. As you read through the website you will learn more about the exciting services we offer children and families in Toronto, the inspiring volunteers we work with and ways in which you can become involved.

United Way of Greater Toronto is an incorporated non-profit charity focused on improving the long-term health of our community. We run Canada's largest annual fundraising campaign in support of 200 social service agencies providing a vital network of support.

A volunteer Board of Trustees of leading community members governs all United Way decision-making. The Board oversees how donor money is used, shapes our strategic vision and plan, and monitors organizational performance.

The Campaign Cabinet is the driving force behind our annual campaign. These business and community leaders meet with colleagues and peers to encourage the participation of their organizations in the United Way campaign. The Campaign Cabinet's effort ultimately involves 20,000 volunteers, and reaches into workplaces large and small across the city.

Frances Lankin, President and Chief Executive Officer, leads United Way of Greater Toronto. The president's senior executive team is made up of a Vice-President and Chief Administrative Officer, and Vice Presidents of Fundraising, Allocations and Community Services, Marketing and Communications, e-Business, and Information Services.
