At the William Vastis Wealth Management Group, we believe that giving back to the community we live in is essential and necessary when-ever possible. As a result, the group has joined up with some charities in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to assist them both financially and in promoting there causes. We ask that you take the time to peruse their individual summaries provided below, and if possible, click on the logos of each and it will take to their to respective web sites. Since 1875, The Hospital for Sick Children
has contributed to countless advances in children's health and the lives
of millions of children have been profoundly changed for the better as a
result. Outstanding patient care, research and education have helped Sick
Kids to emerge as one of the best centres for children's health care in
the world. An endowment establishes a named fund to
support a specific purpose, such as a scholarship, lecture series,
educational equipment or library acquisitions. To establish an endowment,
a gift of capital is entirely invested in the donor’s name within the
University's endowment fund. The named endowment becomes a permanent
memorial and each year a part of the accrued growth, after allowance for
inflation protection, is awarded. The University of Guelph’s endowment
policy ensures that the donor’s gift is secure and that the donor’s
intentions and plans are maintained. The mission of Houselink Community Homes is to improve the quality of life of psychiatric survivors and people who are homeless or otherwise marginalized, through the provision of permanent and affordable supportive housing. Houselink is committed to the following principles:

For decades, Big Brothers of Toronto and Big Sisters of Toronto have been well known and respected for the important service they have provided to children in our community. This time has developed an appreciation for the powerful role that mentors play in young people’s lives. In 2001, a historic decision was made to amalgamate Big Brothers of Toronto and Big Sisters of Toronto to become one stronger organization serving the children in our community. With the amalgamation, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto has the vision, leadership, organization, brand and governance structure to accelerate building a larger and stronger agency dedicated to reach and serve more children in our community. Other benefits of the amalgamation include:

United Way of Greater Toronto is an incorporated non-profit charity focused on improving the long-term health of our community. We run Canada's largest annual fundraising campaign in support of 200 social service agencies providing a vital network of support. A volunteer Board of Trustees of leading community members governs all United Way decision-making. The Board oversees how donor money is used, shapes our strategic vision and plan, and monitors organizational performance. The Campaign Cabinet is the driving force behind our annual campaign. These business and community leaders meet with colleagues and peers to encourage the participation of their organizations in the United Way campaign. The Campaign Cabinet's effort ultimately involves 20,000 volunteers, and reaches into workplaces large and small across the city.
